New for 2026, the Tiguan now offers motorists the choice between two different powertrains. First is the standard 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, producing 201 horsepower and 207 lb.-ft. of torque. This is a versatile option that can be paired with either a standard FWD system if you prioritize efficiency, or an available 4MOTION® AWD setup if you desire more assured traction. The second possibility is the available 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder option, tuned up to deliver 268 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque to provide a more thrilling driving experience as you glide across Sunrise Highway. This powertrain is exclusive to the SEL R-Line Turbo edition of the SUV, which also comes standard with 4MOTION® AWD and its accompanying drive mode selection feature. Regardless of which arrangement you choose, you’ll enjoy smooth gear changes and responsive acceleration with the standard 8-speed automatic transmission.
Audio & Connectivity
Step into the advanced cockpit of the 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan and turn your attention to the center of the dashboard to see its standard 12.9-in. touchscreen display. This expansive feature includes standard wireless App-Connect, making it compatible with Apple CarPlay®1 and Android Auto™2. Sync up your smart device and open your preferred music app to enjoy the sounds of the available Harman Kardon® premium audio system, which includes a center speaker and subwoofer.
